We’re on a mission to celebrate and promote handmade-in-America crafts, artisanal goods, and folk art. We are especially excited to showcase makers based in small and rural towns that produce sustainable, eco-friendly, and heirloom-quality products.
Our aim is two-fold: to strengthen local economies by boosting the reach of these unique and usually small-batch offerings, and to help Americans redefine the value of handmade in our daily lives. We believe that conscious consumer choices can make a real, sustainable difference.
Handcraft Nation was founded by brother-and-sister team Paul Knisely and Sandra Barnidge.
They launched Handcraft Nation with a shared vision to help others rekindle an appreciation for handmade goods, while fostering a deeper sense of connection to our home places—and our planet.
We're currently building a custom AI tool to help you find artists, makers, and crafters–real people making really good stuff. Unlike Amazon, Etsy, and other big retailers, our directory intentionally prioritizes makers based in small and rural towns in the United States who produce sustainable, eco-friendly, and heirloom-quality products. Think of it as the largest-ever digital arts and crafts fair in America. We're soft launching soon, so watch this space!
